This mama can proudly boast of her success in cultivating Yuyu’s love for reading.
I bought him his first book “Peekaboo Zoo” when he was 3 months old. In those days, right up to when he was 13 months or so, he could sit through 1 or 2 books cover to cover. Alas, these days he can’t get through even half a book!
But this Mama is not too worried as Yuyu has free access to all his books now, and whenever he is near his bookshelf in the study, he helps himself to the books. I’ve seen him turning the pages himself , looking intently at the pictures in the books.
Next thing now is to teach him phonics and I’ve now placed my order to the Leap Frog Letterman Phonics DVD via a singaporemotherhood.com spree. Meanwhile, it’s the Abadaba Alphabet book I’m relying on.
